Media Release: Stratford Town Council Meeting Summary (July 9, 2026)

The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Noise and Nuisance Bylaw Exemption
A request for a Noise and Nuisance Bylaw exemption was approved for the residents of 34 Owen Lane on July 31, 2026, until 1:00am on August 1, 2026, to permit a wedding to take place on the property. The approval is subject to the conditions of the resolution.

Special Permit Use Approved
An application from Francistheriault Ventures Inc. to operate an auto detailing business at Unit 1, 26 Hollis Avenue (PID 1093814) was approved. This use is a Special Permit Use within the Business Park (M2) Zone.

Public Meeting Called
A public meeting will be held on a future date to be determined, in order to obtain input regarding a Special Permit Use to construct an automotive related use (car wash), at 14 Irving Avenue (PID 610550).

Disposition of Assets
Following a request, a resolution was approved to dispose of Town of Stratford owned land at PID 1045210, adjacent to Martindale Crescent. The land has been appraised and will be disposed of at the appraised values to the property owners adjacent to the property.

CADC Board Member Appointment
Dawn Binns was appointed to represent the Town of Stratford on the Charlottetown Area Development Corporation (CADC) board of directors. Binns will replace Michael Fleischman who has served for a number of years but has requested to be replaced at this time.
